🏀 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Clayton Therrell 🔥
📍 Bay High School
🎓 Class of 2029
🏀 Sophomore | Point Guard / Shooting Guard
📏 5’9”
Clayton Therrell has a chance to become one of the best guards to come through Bay High School. And if you’ve ever watched him compete, you know exactly why.
One of our first memories of Clayton came before his freshman season when he showed up to train and found himself matched up against arguably one of the best players in the state, T.J. Daly.
If you know T.J., you know there’s not a second he isn’t competing. Despite being two years younger, Clayton never backed down. Even when T.J. got the best of him, Clayton kept coming.
What we didn’t realize at the time was that’s just who Clayton is. His fight is bigger than whatever challenge is in front of him.
As we’ve continued working with Clayton, one thing has become clear: He’s a sponge. Every training session, he’s watching, learning, and adding something new to his game.
Early on, shooting was an area that needed improvement. Instead of avoiding it, Clayton went to work. Fast-forward to today, and he’s knocking down mid-range jumpers at a high rate and stepping into three-pointers with confidence.
And that’s what makes him scary.
He’s already one of the toughest guards to keep out of the paint. At 5’9”, he’s built like a bull, finishes through contact, and possesses strength that very few high school guards can match. As his outside shot continues to develop, defending him is only going to get tougher.
But what separates Clayton isn’t just his ability.
He’s a natural leader, a great teammate, and a competitor who never believes he’s out of a fight. Whether his team is up 20 or down 20, you’re getting the same Clayton Therrell.
We believe this sophomore season could be a breakout year for him at Bay High School, and we’re excited to watch his continued growth.
🏀 If you’ve got a free Friday night and want to watch a player who competes on every possession, make the trip to Bay. Clayton Therrell is worth the price of admission.
